Das aber ist noch nicht alles: Erste Mieter haben sich auf der alten Gewerbebrache eingefunden, nachdem dort Brandschutzwände gezogen, Fenster erneuert, Leitungen saniert und Dachflächen wetterfest gemacht worden sind. Die Firma Heckmann wird hier mit zunächst acht bis zehn Mitarbeitern edle Bauteile für eine Schiffswerft produzieren, Schweißer und Stahlbauer werden dafür noch gesucht. Die Firma Heidorn aus Heemsen plant mittelfristig – mit zunächst fünf Mitarbeitern – auf dem Toschi-Gelände energetische Bauteile für ihre zahlreichen Projekte zu fertigen, das Busunternehmen Haller kehrt an seinen alten Standort zurück und sichert so dauerhaft elf Arbeitsplätze in der Stadt.
Rundum gute Nachrichten für Rethem also, entstanden dank der EGRA (‚Energie- und Gewerbepark Rethem Aller‘), und dank der Unterstützung des Landes und der EU. Was Jahrzehnte an Wirtschaftsförderung nie erreichten, das stellte diese bundesweit wohl einmalige ‚Selbsthilfe-Initiative regionaler Unternehmer‘ auf die Beine. Als Modellprojekt mit viel ehrenamtlichem Engagement …
Die guten Nachrichten reißen seither nicht ab: So benötigt bspw. die Oberflächenentwässerung des riesigen Geländes keine aufwändige Sanierung, Kamerabefahrungen der Kanäle ergaben keinerlei Beanstandungen. Im Gespräch ist jetzt ein Gesamtentwässerungssystem gleich für das gesamte Gewerbegebiet an der Hainholzstraße. Die Planer sind optimistisch, dass sie – nach dem Teilverkauf einiger Grundstücke am Rand des Geländes – auch dafür die erforderlichen Mittel ‚wuppen‘ könnten. Die Stadt würde dann über genügend hochmoderne Gewerbeflächen auf rundum saniertem Grund verfügen.
